The Bounties of the Natural World and Then Some

Today we walked in Upper Ojai at the Happy Valley School. We could see Beatrice Woods' house and the Ojai valley from where we were. It was dry and crackly but things were still blooming here and there. A playwrights' conference was being held somewhere on the grounds. We found old walnut trees and sat under some for lunch. What a great day.
Candace, my walking partner, is a rock person. Her entire front patio is covered with rocks. She knows a lot about rocks and I know nothing. She has some art here and there as well, from her favorite artists. And today she had a beautiful heirloom tomato. I had to get its portrait.
