At Macy's I was looking at the Origins products which are right by the door and this woman came in. She was obviously a homeless woman and she had that rank, sour odor people get when they can't stay clean. The Origins saleswoman smiled at her and called her by name, Michelle. Michelle went over to the makeup counter and was putting foundation on her face, rubbing it in with gusto. She already had lipstick smeared on her lips and around her lips. She was maybe my age. Her face was furrowed and rough. Her hair was frizzy and wild. Her clothes were eclectic and she carried the big bag. But she was smiling and happy.
