Coastal Oaks at the School

My brother lives with his wife Nancy at a school in the foothills of Carpinteria, California.
After teaching there for many years his turn came up for the house of his choice and he got a good one.
He moved into a wonderful home on a bluff overlooking a valley and in the distance the ocean.
I rarely notice the ocean. It has to be a clear day. But it is out there, through the trees, over the hills, across the freeway, on the other side of the town. There it is.
This picture was taken at the end of the day, right before dinner. We get invited to dinner quite often and we always attend. Who could pass up the healthy food, the beautiful setting, and family? Not to mention a fire going in the fireplace which opens to the dining room and the living room.
Soon my brother retires and moves to Washington state; Whidbey Island. Where can we find new family? Where can we solicit invitations to comfortable meals eaten outside at the picnic table during summer and in the cozy dining room with a piano in the winter?
I just can't think about it now!
